Getting started

Choose the equipment you have, set your training preferences and preview your first workout. Home shows today’s plan. A body check-in lets you choose your energy and soreness in six areas. Very sore or unbearable areas are excluded, including supporting muscles; sharp pain or feeling unwell pauses recommendations. These are conservative planning rules, not medical diagnosis or clearance to exercise. Do not train through severe pain.

Keep your history safe

Open Profile → Data & backup to export a full JSON backup regularly, especially before changing phones or clearing app storage. Account sign-in does not sync your training history. Import a JSON backup on the other device and review the record counts before replacing data. CSV is for reading your records in a spreadsheet, not full restoration. If saving fails, keep the app open and use the recovery message to retry or export unsaved changes.

If an old save cannot be read, OmniFit protects its original bytes and shows a recovery screen. Do not uninstall or clear app data. Use a known JSON backup, or contact support first. Browser storage can be evicted by the operating system; an exported backup is the reliable copy you control.

Training and recovery

A paused workout preserves completed sets, edited weights and remaining work. Resume from Home. Timed sets record seconds, repetition sets record reps, and warm-up ramps are kept separate. Free Count also preserves its draft. Timers pause when the app goes into the background, except a rest countdown, which follows elapsed time. The first rep after returning resumes Free Count’s active-time tracking.

Use the painful-exercise control to stop an aggravating movement. Swaps and generated plans use your equipment and recovery restrictions. If no suitable exercise remains, rest or change your preferences when appropriate. The app will not invent an unsuitable fallback workout.

Account access

Use Sign up, then enter the verification code emailed by Cognito. You can resend the code or correct the account email. Sign in after verification. If you forget your password, choose Forgot password in Sign in, request a recovery code and set a new password. If requests fail, check your connection and retry. Too many requests can require a short wait.

Friends and shared goals

Open Friends from Home or Profile. A friend invitation is a private 12-character code for one person and expires after 7 days. Group codes have 6 characters and invite people into the same group. Group owners can create goals for training days, repetitions or time on a movement. Goals are cooperative and contributions are self-reported. You always review and consent before sharing a total.

You can withdraw a shared contribution. Manage a friend to remove or block them. A block prevents future friend connections; leave any shared groups separately. Use Report a concern on the relevant screen to contact support with the connection or challenge identifier.

Apple Health and reminders

Apple Health is available in the iPhone app. Windows browsers cannot access it. In Profile or Progress, review the Health explanation and choose the permissions you want. Empty values can mean there are no samples or reading is not permitted. Writing a workout, weight or mindful interval requires permission and your action. If you revoke access, the rest of the app continues to work.

Reminders are optional and are scheduled locally for the next 14 days. Open the app to refresh them. Check iPhone Settings if they do not arrive. No group activity is automatically pushed to you.

Delete data or an account

Profile → Delete account → type DELETE removes the online account, friend connections, memberships and shared contributions. Local workouts remain. Profile → Reset everything clears local training, photos and recovery copies and signs out. To remove both, delete the online account first and then reset local data. Delete exported backup files separately. Records already written to Apple Health are managed there.

Accessibility and offline use

Profile includes light/dark themes, the original high-contrast palette, larger text and reduced motion. Core personal training works offline after the web app has finished caching, or in the installed iPhone app. Account and shared group actions need internet access. If a web update is waiting, finish or pause your workout and close all OmniFit tabs before reopening.
